Liberia: Over 5,000 Voters Likely To Be Left Disenfranchised Due to Spoiled Ballot Papers

News media in Monrovia have learned that more than 5,000 residents of Karquekpo in Sinoe County may be unable to participate in today’s voting due to damaged ballot papers.

Reports indicate that the ballot papers were spoiled by water during their transportation to the county. A reliable source with knowledge of the situation informed FrontPageAfrica that the ballots were exposed to heavy rainfall as a result of the poor road conditions in the Southeast.

The leading news media in the country, FrontPageAfrica has not been able to obtain official comments from the National Elections Commission on this situation.
