Brothers Siyabonga and Malusi Ndimande, accused of involvement in the murder of well-known South African rapper Kiernan “AKA” Forbes and his friend Tebello “Tibz” Motsoane, have finally been extradited from Eswatini to face charges in South Africa.
The two arrived at King Shaka International Airport on Tuesday morning and appeared in the Durban Magistrate’s Court, where they were formally charged with the murders of Forbes and Motsoane, who were gunned down outside a restaurant on Florida Road in Durban in February 2023.
The extradition marks a major breakthrough in the long-running investigation, which had stalled for months as the brothers fought to avoid being sent back to South Africa. They abandoned their appeal against the South African government’s extradition request last week, paving the way for their return.
They now join five other suspects already charged in the case, who are set to stand trial in July 2026. The group faces charges including conspiracy to commit murder, murder, unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition, five counts of attempted murder, and money laundering.
Local authorities said the extradition brings investigators closer to completing the picture of what happened on the night AKA was killed.
