A light aircraft carrying tourists from Hungary and Germany crashed in Kenya on Tuesday, October 28, killing all 11 people on board.
The plane, operated by Mombasa Air Safari, was flying from Diani Airport to Kichwa Tembo in the Maasai Mara when it went down near Kenya’s Indian Ocean coast at around 8:30 a.m. local time (05:30 GMT).
According to the airline, the aircraft was carrying 10 passengers – eight Hungarians and two Germans, along with a Kenyan captain.
“Sadly, there are no survivors. Our hearts and prayers are with all those affected by this tragic event,” Mombasa Air Safari said in a statement.
Authorities have launched an investigation into the cause of the crash.
“Our primary focus right now is providing all possible support to the families affected,” the airline added. “A dedicated family assistance team has been established to offer counselling, logistical coordination, and any other necessary support.”
