The South African women’s hockey team reaffirmed their supremacy in African hockey with a dominant 4–0 win over Ghana in the final of the 2025 African Hockey Cup of Nations in Ismailia.
The victory secured their eighth straight continental title and earned them a spot at the 2026 FIH Hockey World Cup.
Having edged Ghana 3–2 in the group stage, South Africa rose to the occasion in the final, delivering a composed and clinical performance against their familiar rivals.
The final whistle marked not only another convincing title win, but also South Africa’s sixth consecutive final triumph over Ghana, reinforcing their legacy as the powerhouse of African women’s hockey.
With this result, South Africa continues to lead the continent on the global stage, proudly qualifying once again for the FIH Hockey World Cup.
