A conservation organisation associated with Prince Harry has reached a renewed understanding with the government of Chad, just under two weeks after the country ended its previous agreement with the group.
On October 6, Chad announced it was ending its partnership with African Parks, citing the group’s inadequate efforts to tackle poaching.
However, in a joint statement released on Friday, both sides confirmed they had begun a new round of discussions “in a spirit of dialogue and cooperation” concerning the management of the nation’s protected areas.
African Parks, which operates in 12 countries and oversees the management of about 20 national parks and conservation areas, lists Prince Harry as a board member and former president.
